We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain critical Windows-based server environments and web application infrastructure. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting abilities, independence, and a proactive approach to refining documentation and improving system reliability. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Windows Server administration, IIS, certificates, and basic network / firewall diagnostics. All candidates must have an active DOD Secret or Public Trust clearance to be considered for the position.
Key Responsibilities :
- Configure and manage Windows permissions, network shares, and folder-level security on shared drives.
- Set up, import, and export IIS sites, application pools, and related configurations.
- Export / import SSL certificates, manage bindings, and ensure proper implementation across virtual machines.
- Install, modify, and maintain Windows Features required for application and server functionality.
- Work with Active Directory Groups, OUs, and STIG-compliant environments to diagnose access or configuration issues (changes performed by a separate team).
- Troubleshoot IIS and Windows Server configurations based on .NET application error messages, HTTP status codes, and system logs.
- Independently manage workload, proactively resolve issues, maintain and improve technical documentation, and collaborate with team members when needed.
- Edit and update XML and configuration files, including exported IIS settings
- Perform network and firewall triage, identifying connectivity or rule-related issues and submitting clear incident tickets to network / security teams.
- Support application testing via hosts file modifications and other local system configuration updates.
