We are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the GAAP accounting and cost accounting functions for a growing consumer product manufacturing company. This role is ideal for a high-performing Accounting Manager ready to step into a broader leadership position, own the close process end-to-end, and partner closely with operations and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Lead and oversee all general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
• Manage and enhance cost accounting processes, including standard costing, inventory valuation, BOMs, labor and overhead absorption, and variance analysis
• Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to analyze production costs, margins, and operational performance
• Oversee inventory accounting, including cycle counts, physical inventories, reserves, and reconciliation between subledgers and the GL
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scale and compliance
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing audit preparation and fieldwork
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to manufacturing and cost drivers
• Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a strong team culture and promoting best practices
• Assist with system improvements, process automation, and ERP enhancements as the business grows
