Augustana University invites applications for the position of Residence Hall Director , a full-time, 12-month, live-in administrative role within the Department of Residence Life. Residence Hall Directors are integral members of the Residence Life team, supporting a holistic and student-centered residential experience grounded in the University’s mission, vision, and core values.
This position provides leadership, supervision, crisis response, and community development in a residence hall serving 50–250 students. The hall overseen in this role features suite-style rooms with shared bathrooms—housing first- through fourth-year students—offering unique opportunities for intentional engagement, creative programming, and community building.
The Residence Hall Director plays a key role in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and academically enriched living environment and collaborates closely with campus partners across the University. Responsibilities
Directly supervise 6–10 undergraduate student staff members.
Oversee the daily operations of a co-ed residence hall housing 50–250 students.
Serve in the on-call rotation supporting the broader Residential Education program.
Receive additional responsibilities based on departmental and institutional needs.
Contribute to department-wide initiatives, assessment, and committee work.
