Job Title

Prepares paint to match specified colors by blending and mixing required amounts of pigment, oil, thing and drying substances.

Applies coats of paint, varnish, stains, or lacquer to decorate and protect the exterior and interior surfaces, trimmings and fixture of the hospital, using brushes, rollers or sprayers.

Draws and paints artwork on materials such as; glass, canvas, wood and plastics. Prepares sketches or drawings from memory when needed. Creates special effects by applying paint with cloth, brush, sponge or fingers.

Smoothes surfaces using sandpaper, wire brushes, or steel wool and removes old paint from surfaces using paint remover, scrapers, wire brushes to prepare surfaces for painting; Spreads cloth or canvas over floors and furniture to protect them from splattering paint.

Ability to estimate time and materials needed for job assignment.

The ability to accomplish work assignments in a timely manner unsupervised.

Ability to hang and finish sheetrock.

Performs other duties as assigned
