Job SummaryProvide a range of security services in a health care environment that includes being alert for criminal activity, performing patrols on foot and by motor vehicle, assisting hospital staff in a wide array of activities. Essential Functions

• Responsible for protecting the buildings and grounds, including the contents, occupants, and visitors from fire, theft, vandalism, disruption, and illegal entry
• Perform walking patrols of hospital facility and parking lots, seeking out and taking protective action against hazards or conditions which may cause damage, injury, or interference through fire accident, theft, or trespass
• Enforce security regulations where applicable
• Give directions to patients, visitors, and hospital guests
• Direct traffic on the premises, assists public in locating parking places, and enforces parking regulations
• Complete required documentation in a timely manner. This may include preparing special reports of incidents or taking written statements from witnesses
• Assist in helicopter landings and departures
• Answer requests for assistance on a timely basis
• Control abusive or combative patients, visitors, or employees
• Perform heavy lifting of patients and medical devices as requested
• Monitor severe weather and implements disaster plan if required
• Respond to and investigate fire alarms and provide directions to fire department in a fire alarm situation
• Conduct fire drills and inspect fire extinguishers
• Issue keys to staff and maintain the patented key system
• Any other duties as needed to drive to the Vision, fulfill the Mission, and abide by the Values of the organization
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Minimum of 1 year Experience in law enforcement, military service, or security services preferred
