The purpose of this position is to perform custodial work in the maintenance of the assigned facility. This is an entry-level maintenance support position.
Illustrative examples of essential duties include:
General knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment; workplace hazardous materials and proper use of; proper operation and use of custodial/maintenance equipment.
Ability to read and understand labels and instructions in safety data sheets, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees and the public; work a varying schedule of hours, to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Operate City vehicles, power tools and equipment including a mobile device to track work orders, and report incidents; learn the maintenance operation, policy and procedures of the City and the assigned department or office.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, minimum of two years of experience in building cleaning or maintenance, American Red Cross CPR/First Aid, and a valid Florida driver's license.
Additional information includes a one-year probationary period and the responsibility of the incumbent to maintain their licenses and/or certifications as a job requirement. Background screenings are conducted through the Clearinghouse.
