Behavioral Support Specialist

Salary Range : $27.47-$30.22

Position Summary :

Under the direction of the Director, provide behavioral health support services for children / adolescents and their families. These functions are performed under general supervision, necessitating the ability to exercise independent and sound judgment. This role requires travel and providing home and community-based services in the Bronx and Manhattan. Flexible schedule required.

Essential Duties :

• Provide psychoeducation to children / youth and families around treatment options and diagnosis.
• Utilizing a strengths-based approach, assist families with identifying strengths and supports to address behavioral deficits.
• Teach skill building techniques to children / youth and families to promote personal independence.
• Provide family caregiver support.
• Assist with developing social and interpersonal skills as well as developing coping strategies.
• Complete progress notes in a timely manner.
• Submit billing encounter forms in a timely manner.
• Monitor timelines and goals to ensure positive outcomes
• Use and identify best practices to build a culture of quality and continuous improvement
• Communicate progress and challenges to all staff and stakeholders
• Carry a caseload of 12-14 clients
• Comply with all privacy laws including HIPAA, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
