License : Valid state nursing license required. Certifications : ACLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC Must-Have : Experience in a pediatric population is highly preferred. First-time travelers are not accepted. Travelers living within 50 miles may be subject to a rate difference. Epic experience is required. Description : The unit averages a daily census of 70, with approximately 160 visits per day. There are 36 rooms and 50 beds available in the emergency department. This role involves working 12-hour night shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30. Every other weekend is required. You will assist in a variety of patient situations from minor cuts and scrapes to complex cases. Diagnoses include fractures, abdominal pain, chest pain, respiratory concerns, and oncological emergencies. You will also manage neurological emergencies, trauma, and psychiatric emergencies. Special procedures performed in the unit include conscious sedation and trauma alert activation. Equipment you will use includes point-of-care ultrasound and EPOC devices. You will work within a team nursing approach and will be expected to float to the ICU as necessary. Familiarity with charting using Epic is essential. The patient population spans neonates to geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support includes teams from various specialties such as physical therapy and respiratory services.
