The expected salary for this role ranges from $103,500 to $115,000, based on experience, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.

LOCATION

This position requires a full-time on-site presence at project locations. Initially, you will be working on-site at a project location in the Washington D.C. area, primarily on a 2nd shift. Work hours may vary based on client needs, with occasional weekend hours required. Flexibility is key, as this role may involve varying shifts on short notice. Following the D.C. project, you will support other sites across the Mid-Atlantic region, necessitating travel to those locations as required.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) is crucial for developing and reviewing site-specific Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and conducting on-site safety education. Your proactive approach will ensure overall safety and health compliance for the project, while managing, implementing, and enforcing the APP. This position entails full-time on-site safety and occupational health management, including surveillance, inspections, training, reporting, and safety enforcement.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Create, implement, and maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan adhering to EM 385-1-1 standards.
• Develop necessary Activity Hazard Analyses for project activities and ensure comprehension among all involved personnel.
• Implement project safety training programs, including orientation and continuous safety training, while maintaining training records.
• Conduct regular site safety meetings and document inspections, deficiencies, corrective actions, as well as incidents and injuries.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Perform daily safety and health inspections, maintaining detailed logs of identified hazards and corrective actions taken.
• Enforce all safety policies, ensuring compliance among all project personnel, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Lead investigations for all accidents and near-miss events, preparing necessary reports.
• Maintain an inventory of hazardous chemicals on-site, along with their safety data sheets.
• Participate in all relevant meetings, including pre-construction and periodic check-ins.
