PACU RN Job Details

Location : Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York nursing jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (May 27, 2024 – August 26, 2024)

Healthcare Setting : Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Shift : 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Call Requirement : 1 overnight call per week; every 4th week includes weekend call (Friday / Saturday / Sunday)

Employment Type : Travel nursing, W2

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1910–$2050 per week

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state (required)

Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or critical care nursing experience

BLS certification (required)

ACLS certification (preferred)

Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills

Ability to participate in scheduled call (overnight and weekend)

PACU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures

Monitor vital signs, manage airways, and assess patient recovery in a clinical setting

Administer medications and treatments as ordered by healthcare providers

Communicate effectively with surgical teams, patients, and families

Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition

Document all nursing care provided in accordance with hospital and healthcare policies

Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
