ED Holds / Tele - Registered Nurse

Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM

Experience :

• 24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience is required from last 4 years.

Requirements :

50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Guaranteed Hours 36

Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule.

Holiday Requirement : Rotate in with the perm staff

Is there a call or standby requirement? No call required

Floating Requirements : Would float to med / surg / tele / overflow units and CRMC / MGMC EDs as needed. First to float, could float to sister facility Mercy Gilbert

Beds CRMC 60 ED Beds, MGMC 31 ED Beds

Common diagnoses / Types of patients : ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS / Tele

Minimum 2 years of experience - must be recent, within the past 6 months.

Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters. Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical.

Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes - Common titratable & / or set rate drips Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone

Additional Notes : Will be caring for patients from the ER who are waiting on a bed in the hospital.

Additional Questions : May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medication administration. Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment.
