Systems Change Communications Manager

Join our dynamic communications team! The Department of Revenue is actively seeking an engaging and results-driven Systems Change Communications Manager to join our innovative Office of Communications. We are looking for a dedicated professional to champion the people side of change across the organization. This critical role focuses on guiding employees through transitions involving new business processes, systems, and technology. You will be the force that drives adoption and ensures proficiency among our employees for all major organizational updates.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Partner with the Executive Director's Office, Communications team, and Human Resources to provide essential change management support
  • Develop and deploy comprehensive change management strategies and communications plans for updates to our systems and processes
  • Collaborate regularly with Communications, HR, and diverse teams to introduce and educate staff on effective Change Management strategies and best practices
  • Create and implement robust plans designed to drive adoption and proficiency with changes that impact DOR employees
  • Focus on the human element of change, addressing impacts related to new business processes, technology, and systems

Minimum qualifications :

  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience in organizational change management, public relations, corporate / professional communications roles, public affairs, and / or government relations; or
  • A combination of related education and / or relevant experience in organizational change management, public relations, corporate / professional communications roles, public affairs, and / or government relations equal to seven (7) years
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively and articulately in writing and orally. Experience in developing and implementing outreach strategies.
  • Fluency in Gmail and Google Applications, and the ability to quickly learn other software systems.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with public and private organizations, special interest groups, elected and appointed officials, in situations that may be politically sensitive.
  • Excellent reasoning, investigative, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communication style and interpersonal skills that incorporate consensus building and participative decision making.
  • Experience in dashboarding
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, Government Relations
  • Experience with the media or journalism
  • Certified in Prosci
  • Conditions of employment with the CDOR : Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence. As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records / accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.

    Pursuant to the Universal Driving Standards Policy, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle. To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who :

  • Have an assigned State fleet vehicle
  • Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position
  • Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle
