Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist will perform routine and select special imaging procedures under the supervision of the Radiology Administrator or designee. The role includes preparing patients for procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging, and maintaining adherence to hospital-wide customer service standards. The technologist will also perform quality assurance tasks and exercise professional judgment in all diagnostic imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and special radiographic imaging in accordance with established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures ensuring safety, comfort, and accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with hospital customer service programs and radiology standards.
- Conduct required quality assurance activities as assigned.
- Travel to Hawthorne, Yonkers, and White Plains ambulatory practices as needed.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards including Image Gently and Image Wisely pledges.
- Maintain professional competence through required continuing education.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited allied health radiography program or hospital-based radiologic technology program.NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required.ARRT certification (RT or RT(R)) required.BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or completion within 90 days of hire.Completion of required continuing education (24 CE credits every 2 years as per governing standards).Preferred Qualifications
DOH IV Certification (or ability to complete within 6-month orientation period).Additional Requirements
Participation in radiation dose safety programs (Image Gently & Image Wisely) during orientation and before completion of probation.Strong professional judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to patient care and safety.
