Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician, Sterile Compounding ensures high-quality sterile medications through aseptic techniques and regulatory compliance, supporting Empower's mission to provide affordable, innovative medications for healthier lives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs sterile compounding in a Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) ISO-classified cleanroom, adhering to United States Pharmacopeia / regulations and using aseptic techniques.
- Operates equipment, formulates sterile preparations, performs calculations, and completes documentation to ensure quality and compliance.
- Maintains cleanroom integrity through cleaning, sterilization, and support tasks like bubble point testing, autoclaving, and LEAN manufacturing practices such as Root Cause Analysis and 5S.
- Prepares work areas, ensures proper garbing, transfers products for inspection, and supports production schedules.
- Trains new hires in sterile operations and collaborates with the team to meet safety, quality, and delivery goals.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Minimum of 2 years previous cGMP or LEAN manufacturing experience required.High School Diploma or equivalent, required.Certified Pharmacy Technician registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and accredited in Sterile / IV compounding by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education required.Benefits
