Inpatient Services Physician Assistant - PRN

POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Physician Assistant, you will provide essential primary health care while working closely under the guidance of our dedicated clinic physicians. Your role will involve evaluating and managing patient health by :

• Completing comprehensive medical histories
• Conducting thorough physical examinations
• Establishing diagnoses through relevant tests
• Formulating effective treatment plans
• Providing follow-up care and health maintenance in line with physician-approved protocols

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

You must have successfully completed an accredited educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or its successors.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is recommended. You must hold a current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas. It's essential to maintain current AHA BLS certification or higher, in accordance with Medical-Dental Staff and UMA bylaws. For those practicing in an acute care setting, obtaining AHA ACLS certification or advanced specialty equivalent within the first 90 days of employment is mandatory. Prescriptive authority is also required, and a valid DEA number must be acquired within 90 days of hire.
