In 1998, FirstLine Schools started the first charter school in New Orleans. FirstLine now operates four K-8th grade schools. Our mission is to create and inspire great, open admissions public schools in New Orleans. We do this by :

Position Summary
The Data Manager is a key part of the Network Data Team at FirstLine Schools. This person plays an important role in ensuring effective and efficient use of data and systems to help drive results and ensure compliance with all LDOE reporting. The Data Manager leads all LDOE data collections - including student, staff, and scheduling data - to prepare and submit state and federal reports on schedule. The Data Manager works with and supports school-based staff to ensure that accurate student and staff records are maintained at all times. In addition to state reporting responsibilities, the Data Manager collaborates with members of the Network Data Team to maintain PowerSchool SIS and generate ad-hoc analyses to support FirstLine leaders with key decision making.
Key Responsibilities
Data Systems Training
Delivers trainings to key staff in the following data systems :PowerSchool SIS
EdLinkActs as PowerSchool super user, including training school-based staffOther training and support as neededState Reporting
Serve as district security coordinator managing staff access to state data systemsCoordinate submissions to state systems for all reporting periods including :EdLink – Louisiana Department of Education Data Warehouse
MFP reporting (10 / 1, 2 / 1, EOY)
CLASS reporting (Staff and Students)Other student demographic information (504, Homeless, LEP etc…)eSER- Special Education ReportingManage user access
Assist SPED department with SPED data reportseScholarManage all student LASIDs
Manage all staff LASIDsProvide support to relevant internal departments and stakeholders to prepare submission of data to :eScholar – lunch status for annual CEP submission
EdLink - Federal Dropout CorrectionsLES - Roster VerificationCRDC - Civil Rights Data CollectionLES - Louisiana Evaluation SystemServing as main point of contact for school support staff and HR teams for timely and accurate submission of state reporting as follows :Work closely with school-based staff to ensure compliance with student data reporting
Work closely with FirstLine HR department to ensure compliance with staff data reportingResponsible for coordinating data compilation to comply with all external student data requests, including but not limited to :LDOE audits
NOLA Public Schools auditsGrant funding reportsSharing documents from LDOE secure FTP site to the correct staffStaying up to date on LDOE policy changes and communications via routine review of emails, newsletters, and other publicationsAttends weekly EdLink Data Manager Q&A and monthly webinars
Other state reporting duties as assignedSystems Administration
Monitors student information systems to ensure high levels of data integrityDesigns, documents and implements systems maintenance procedures and protocols, including the creation and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to state reporting and Data Manager scope of workEffectively communicates and collaborates with end users to ensure successful use of data systemsStaff Data Management
Streamline staff data processes to align with FLS Data Management Best PracticesEnsure accurate evaluation data for all teachers and leaders is reported to LDOELead data collection and analysis for teacher retention programsCross-Functional Projects
Responsible for coordinating multiple large-scale, long-term projects with stakeholders across the organization, including school leaders, network staff, and other data department membersGenerates ad-hoc analyses and reporting as requestedEdits and creates dashboards in Looker Studio as requestedEducation & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree requiredTwo (2) years of data related relevant work experience required; relevant work acquired in school setting preferredExperience with PowerSchool and EdLink preferred
Expert level user in Excel / Google Sheets requiredExperience with SQL preferredExperience with BigQuery and Looker Studio preferredDemonstrated ability to complete complex data analyses and modelsCommitment to FirstLine Schools’ mission and visionDemonstrated commitment to providing outstanding schools for all studentsStrong analytical background with experience managing and analyzing large volumes of dataExperience managing multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment requiredExperience with conducting research to solve problems requiredExperience with database administration requiredExperience teaching in K-12 education a plusDesired Qualities & Characteristics :

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. FirstLine Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package with a generous 403b plan.
Annual Base Salary Range : $65,500 - $88,284
