Interim Executive Director of the Center of Excellence for Information & Computing Technology
The Interim Executive Director of the Center of Excellence for Information & Computing Technology provides statewide leadership to strengthen Washington's technology workforce and advance Bellevue College's role as a catalyst for innovation and economic mobility. Reporting to the Vice Provost, the Interim Executive Director builds and sustains partnerships with employers, labor, education providers, and state agencies to identify emerging Information and Computing Technology skill needs and align education and training pathways across the 34 community and technical colleges.
The Interim Executive Director leads statewide initiatives that translate industry insights into actionable guidance for program design, curriculum innovation, and sector strategy. This role oversees research, communication, convenings, and grant development to ensure the Center remains a trusted resource for Washington's technology ecosystem. Working collaboratively across divisions and with regional and statewide partners, the Interim Executive Director advances Bellevue College's "Be Bold" priorities by promoting access, industry-responsive learning, and measurable workforce impact.
Through this work, the Interim Executive Director positions Bellevue College and the Center of Excellence as leaders in preparing Washington's workforce for the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
This interim temporary position is anticipated to end in July 2026.
Position Salary Range : $97,166 / year - $140,891 / year. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hire starts no higher than $108,097 / year based on Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule.

The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which means that you are not eligible for overtime pay.

The Center of Excellence for Information & Computing Technology (ICT) at Bellevue College is one of Washington State's designated Centers of Excellence, serving a statewide mission while being integrated into Bellevue College's Academic Affairs division. As a statewide resource, the Center conducts labor-market research, supports curriculum and program innovation, provides professional development, and convenes employers, labor partners, educators, and state agencies to strengthen Washington's technology workforce. Its efforts help the state's 34 community and technical colleges respond to emerging skill needs in areas such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, software development, networking, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Through research, partnership development, and sector leadership, the Center enhances cross-system collaboration and advances equitable access to high-demand technology careers, contributing to both regional and statewide economic mobility.
Strategic and Statewide Sector Leadership
Lead statewide efforts, in collaboration with industry and CTC partners, to strengthen Washington's ICT workforce and maintain the Center's role as a trusted, industry-responsive statewide resource.
Build and sustain relationships with technology employers, labor, government, and workforce agencies to identify emerging trends, skill needs, and industry priorities and apply insights across curriculum, strategy, representation, and collaboration.
Convene statewide ICT stakeholders and advisory bodies to align goals, share best practices, and advance coordinated workforce and education strategies.
Represent Bellevue College and the Center on statewide and regional ICT councils, boards, and workgroups, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and sector needs.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse partners' industry, K-12, higher education, and workforce systems to deliver measurable impact and shared outcomes.

Program and Sector Innovation
Translate industry research and labor-market intelligence into actionable guidance for Washington's 34 community and technical colleges, in alignment with State Board of Community and Technical College guidelines.
Lead the development of sector strategies and support statewide partners in designing agile, technology-aligned programs and pathways.
Guide curriculum innovation and identify emerging technologies, skills, and competencies needed to sustain Washington's ICT competitiveness.
Facilitate collaboration among industry experts, faculty, and college leadership to strengthen program relevance, quality, and student outcomes.
Maintain and align advisory structures to ensure ICT education reflects current workforce needs and sector best practices.
Support statewide initiatives that expand equitable access to high-demand ICT programs, apprenticeships, and career-connected learning.
Operational and Fiscal Stewardships
Provide leadership and oversight for Center operations, including budgeting, grants, contracts, and resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and contractual requirements for Center deliverables and fiscal accountability.
Manage grant development, proposal writing, and reporting to support the Center's long-term sustainability.
Oversee statewide communications, including website, research publications, outreach materials, and sector reports.
Implement streamlined processes and project management practices to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality deliverables.
Monitor outcomes and operational performance to align Center activities with Bellevue College's strategic priorities.
Collaboration and Institutional Integration
Work collaboratively with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and cross-campus teams to align ICT initiatives with college-wide priorities.
Support Bellevue College's Be Bold strategic plan by advancing initiatives grounded in values, innovation, and measurable student and community impact.
Partner with institutional leaders to promote data-informed decision-making and coordinated workforce pathways.
Contribute to ATD / Aspen-aligned initiatives that strengthen equitable access, career-connected learning, and economic mobility.
Foster a culture of unity, collaboration, and continuous improvement across Center projects and statewide networks.
Lead with an outward mindset that prioritizes shared accountability, relationship-building, and alignment across systems.
Other Duties
Serve on college and statewide committees, task forces, and advisory groups as assigned.
Support special projects, statewide initiatives, and emerging priorities that advance Bellevue College's mission, strategic plan, and workforce leadership goals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in information technology, computer science, education, business, public administration, workforce development, or a related field; or equivalent related experience and education such as Bachelor's degree in a relevant field combined with additional, progressively responsible professional experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the master's requirement.
Five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in technology workforce development, sector partnerships, higher education, economic development, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience convening, leading, and sustaining partnerships with technology employers, industry associations, labor organizations, education providers, or statewide workforce agencies.
Experience analyzing labor-market data and emerging technology trends-including artificial intelligence (AI) and related innovations-and translating them into actionable workforce or educational strategies.
Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives requiring collaboration across systems, institutions, and industry partners.
Experience overseeing budgets, grants, or contract-funded initiatives with a strong record of fiscal accountability and compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively diverse communities and represent the institution in statewide settings.

Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree or an equivalent combination of advanced education and significant professional experience in information technology, computer science, workforce development, higher education leadership, public administration, or a related field
