This Health Care Actuarial Analyst position is part of our HealthCare Economics team, specializing in analyzing programs and interventions linked to Humana's Star Rating performance. As a key team member, you will compile and interpret data, develop methodologies, and forecast outcomes for presentation to enterprise leaders. Collaborating closely with operational partners and actuarial colleagues will empower you to influence direction and create meaningful contributions to the business.
The Health Care Actuarial Analyst focuses on analyzing and forecasting financial, economic, and various data sets to deliver timely information for strategic and operational decisions. Your role includes establishing metrics, performing data analyses, and supporting business intelligence initiatives. You will evaluate trends in industry, finance, and the economy to project the organization’s financial and competitive position in the short, medium, and long term. Work assignments are diverse, often requiring interpretation and independent judgment in determining appropriate actions.
As an Actuarial Analyst, you will ensure data integrity by designing and executing necessary processes for data flow. You will collaborate with stakeholders to address business needs, troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and develop cost-effective solutions for data discrepancies. Understanding the strategic objectives of the department, segment, and organization allows you to make informed decisions regarding work methods, often in ambiguous situations, with minimal direction and guidance as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Successful completion of at least 3 actuarial exams
Strong communication skills
A passion for improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of actuarial experience in healthcare
Skills in SAS or other coding tools
Experience with Medicare
Familiarity with CMS Star Ratings
Travel: This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to Humana's offices required for training or meetings.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Pay Range: $80,900 - $110,300 per year. This position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on individual and/or company performance.
