Job Description

We are seeking an Estimating Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you lead the Estimating Team and plays a key role throughout the lifecycle of project proposals.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Employee Development :

  • Manage and mentor the Estimating Team, including co-ops, fostering professional growth and identifying training opportunities.
  • Assign projects and balance workloads across the team.
  • Ensure alignment and accountability through consistent communication during the sales process.
  • Facilitate team discussions to build consensus and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Lead conversations to address technical, interpersonal, and process-related challenges.

Process & Standards Management :

  • Ensure the Estimating Team adheres to established sales procedures.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of SOPs for the sales and estimating processes in collaboration with Operations and Preconstruction teams.
  • Manage the development of deliverables lists for the Preconstruction team during the bid phase.

    • Project Oversight & Estimating :

  • Collaborate with the Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) to evaluate incoming RFPs and identify projects aligned with company goals.
  • Participate in page-turn meetings to assess scope, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and complete execution of all bid-related tasks, including :

    • Scope definition

  • Vendor and subcontractor review
  • Identification of challenges and unique project features
  • RFP deliverables
  • War room setup
  • Bid package preparation
  • Design assist support
  • Provide estimating support based on project complexity and team capacity.
  • Guide estimators in coordinating with Shop, Engineering, and Field Management to develop comprehensive labor and material estimates.

    • Technical & Strategic Expertise :

  • Support the CBDO in managing war room activities and refining cost worksheets.
  • Review final bid proposals for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Ensure all estimates are consistent, reliable, and submitted on time.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and apply industry standards to all estimating work.
  • Offer innovative solutions to bid challenges.

    • Financial Oversight :

  • Lead the analysis and documentation of potential risks in contract documents.
  • Produce thorough bid documentation with a focus on profitability and revenue generation.
  • Encourage the team to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project value.
  • Collaborate with the CBDO to manage estimating workload and prioritize strategic project pursuits.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or Associate’s degree related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Estimating, Engineering, or Project Management within the glass / glazing industry; experience with custom unitized curtain wall systems required
  • Proficient in interpreting construction documents, specifications, contracts, and budgets.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and architectural principles.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives under pressure and adapts to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
