Verdex Construction is looking for an Assistant Estimator to join our Estimating team to assist us in our mission of "Building Something Better”.

Job Summary :

An Assistant Estimator supports the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive bids for various projects.

Essential Functions :

• Analyzes requirement documents, floor plans, drawings, specifications, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
• Determines what factors of production will influence the cost of the floor installation
• Prepares material and labor estimates for the floor installation
• Develops and maintaining relationships with contractors, architects, and other estimators
• Generates bids for contractors
• Uses bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis
• Presents prepared estimates to management
• Maintains an accurate, current database cost codes of accounts for historical data.
• Review Company projects and estimates to confirm accuracy of estimate.
• Utilize the appropriate company and industry historical data for pricing estimates.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational symposia; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, etc.
• Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and / or department.
• Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support.

Requirements & Qualifications :

Education :

Preferred four (4) year degree in a construction related curriculum or equivalent field experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
