Schedule : M-F 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM. Some earlier mornings or later evenings might be required as needed.
Position Type : Full-time
This is an in-office position, with the ability to work remote 1 day per week depending on the program's needs.

Position Summary :
The Workforce Development Manager will manage the JA Career Bound programs and assist with the Youth Employment program and other workforce readiness initiatives. The workforce development programs introduce high school students to career pathways and essential career skills to better prepare them for a paid summer internship. Applicants must be passionate about JA's mission and inspiring our students to reach their full potential. The Workforce Development Program Manager must have the ability to build strong relationships with school administrators and guidance counselors, students, business leaders, and volunteers while also leading groups of high school students monthly during the school year.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
The Workforce Development Program Manager has one direct report : Workforce Development Program SpecialistManage the team using JA's project management tools.Provide oversight and direction to the members of the team in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among team members that fosters creativity, diversity, problem-solving, innovative solutions, authenticity, honesty, respect, and a commitment to the mission.Encourage a team culture that is consistent with JASF's mission, vision, and values.Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.Your broad responsibilities will include :
Manage and grow the JA Career Bound programs (currently includes 180 students).Manage all JA Career Bound program budgets without overages.Develop and implement a plan for the annual recruitment of students throughout the school year.Develop and maintain relationships with educators and administrators.Recruit volunteers with an emphasis on corporate groups willing to participate in program days.Secure companies to sponsor and host industry-focused program days.Assure program quality through monitoring, service, and support each program day.Design, administer, collect, and analyze program evaluations, surveys, and pre / posttests.Prepare and provide program materials, feedback, and resources to students and volunteers.Organize and implement teachers, volunteers, mentors, and staff training.Teach JA Career Bound curriculum as needed.Identify and cultivate new corporate connections, guest speakers, and mentors.Plan and organize all program days, working with host sponsors and outside vendors to arrange all logistics, including transportation, food, and beverage needs.Secure all in-kind food & beverage needs.Ensure JA Career Bound students professionally represent JA.Plan, organize, and implement all JA Career Bound program student retreats.Plan, organize, and implement all JA Career Bound program graduations.Develop and implement volunteer recognition efforts.Identify student participants to serve as JA Career Bound Ambassadors.Work with the marketing team to increase program awareness, share successes, and increase recruitment.Establish and cultivate an active JA Career Bound alumni base.Organize and implement the JA Career Bound Business Plan Competition and graduation.Continually improve the JA Career Bound programs through student and volunteer feedback.Work with Sr. Director to assess student's industry and job interests and to match them with appropriate internship opportunities.Help with the summer internship programIdentify program gaps and needs and explore ideas for new workforce development programs.Assist with other workforce development initiatives.Performs other related duties as assigned.Skills & attributes to be a success in this role :Passion for JASF's mission and a willingness to learn programs.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Friendly and professional demeanor.Creative, innovative thinker.Committed to growth and change.Energetic and positive.Ability to manage program details and meet deadlines.Multitasking in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.Interpersonal savvy with various stakeholders.Highly organized and results oriented.Unquestionable personal code of ethics.Proactive self-starter and resourceful problem solver.Contributes to a positive organizational culture.Builds trust and handles confidential information.Effective relationship management with educators, volunteers, and funders.Commitment to superior customer service.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.Education & Experience :
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in workforce development, youth programs, education, nonprofit program management, or a related field.Knowledge of workforce readiness, career pathways, and employer expectations strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience managing and scaling programs serving high school students.Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with educators, school administrators, guidance counselors, corporate partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders.Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring staff, including performance management, coaching, and professional development.Strong background in program logistics and operations, including event planning, scheduling, vendor coordination, transportation, and student-facing activities.Experience managing program budgets and monitoring expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility.Experience facilitating or teaching curriculum to groups of high school students, both in classroom and professional settings.Ability to collect, analyze, and use program data, evaluations, and feedback to drive continuous improvement.Familiarity with project management tools and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Along with the above, we would also expect you to :

Ability to successfully pass a Level 2 background screening in accordance with state and organizational requirements.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with ability to travel locally to multiple training sites.Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, and occasionally required to reach, bend, lift, or climb.Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.Important Information :
