Duties & Essential Job Functions
Manage and coordinate the overall activities of the Controller’s Office including supervising accounting entriesManage and coordinate the monthly closing processManage and coordinate the annual independent auditEvaluate and maintain effective internal system controls to assure the safeguarding of assets and the reliability of financial statements.Assist the Treasurer to prepare and administer annual and triennial budgets, Maintain Advanced Budget Management SystemsOversee all accounting and financial reportingSupervision of four direct reportsOther Functions And Responsibilities
Act as Staff support during board meetings.Qualifications
Required
B.S. Degree in AccountingSupervisory experience and skillsAbility to work alone and as a team to make appropriate decisionsStrong organizational, time management and problem-solving skillsAdvanced knowledge of accounting. Knowledge of all accounting functions performed by the staff being supervisedMinimum of 7 - 10 years in an accounting / finance management position experienceStrong knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to not-for-profit organizationsPreferred
CPA is desirable, but not requiredExtensive Knowledge of Accounting systems and software, Financial Edge, Great Plains or comparable
Good sense of humorProficient in MS ExcelProactivePhysical Requirements / Work Environment
The physical demands are those of a typical office.
