Garden City, KS – NP / PA Urgent Care Locum Tenens

Full-Time Schedule Available | 12-Hour Shifts | Autonomy + Strong Support | All Ages

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an adaptable, patient-focused Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time Urgent Care locum tenens assignment in Garden City, Kansas .

This is a stable outpatient setting with excellent support staff, manageable volume, and the opportunity to practice autonomously while still working within a collaborative team. New grads with strong clinical rotations will also be considered.

Assignment Snapshot

  • Setting : Outpatient Urgent Care
  • Contract Type : Locum Tenens

Urgent Care Hours :

  • Monday–Saturday : 8 : 00 AM – 8 : 00 PM
  • Sunday : 1 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 PM
  • Shifts : Full 12-hour shifts Mon–Sat; shorter Sunday shifts
  • Start Date : ASAP / ongoing
  • EMR : eClinicalWorks
  • Support : Robust MA & clinic support staff

    • Clinical Scope

  • Urgent Care for all ages
  • Typical daily volume : 20–30 patients / day
  • Minor procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, I&D)
  • Some Occupational Medicine (drug screens, work comp)
  • DOT Certification not required to submit — employer will assist if needed
  • Must be comfortable working independently at times

    • Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive UC evaluations : illness, injury, follow-ups
  • Order and interpret X-rays, labs, and diagnostics
  • Perform minor procedures and wound care
  • Manage acute conditions : URI, UTI, strains / sprains, lacerations, dermatologic complaints
  • Document patient encounters accurately in eClinicalWorks
  • Provide patient education & communicate clear treatment plans
  • Coordinate care with local specialists as needed

    • Candidate Requirements

  • NP or PA license—Active Kansas license strongly preferred
  • National certification (NCCPA, AANP, ANCC)
  • BLS required
  • Experience in UC, ED, FM, or EM preferred — new grads accepted
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality patient care
