Built from legacy organizations specializing in aerospace manufacturing, assembly and repair, Heritage Aviation, Ltd is a provider of complete components and assemblies to support primary aircraft manufacturers. As an AS9100 registered organization with over 40,000 square feet of floor space located in the heart of the Dallas / Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, Heritage Aviation provides services and support to the vast number of local commercial and military aerospace organizations with the ability to service international clients in the same manner. Our FAA 145 Repair Station Certification allows us the authority to inspect, repair and overhaul components.

CNC MILL SET-UP MACHINIST

Position Description :

The seasoned CNC Set Up Machinist is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This job requires expertise in CNC machining, attention to detail, and commitment to quality by ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our manufacturing processes. The CNC Set Up Machinist should have extensive hands-on experience with a deep understanding of CNC machining technologies and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, complex components.

  • Proven experience as a CNC machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced CNC machining techniques.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and self-sufficient.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Must be familiar with quality standards (ISO9001 / AS9100).
  • You must have your own tools and know the proper use of inspection tools.

    • Essential Functions :

  • Operate a CNC machine to produce high-precision components within specified tolerances.
  • Complete complex machine set-ups by loading necessary tools, inputting program codes, and securing work pieces.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect parts during production runs and finished products for accuracy and quality, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve any machining and programming issues.
  • Familiarity and ability to work with a variety of materials, including metals and plastics.
  • You should possess expertise and thorough understanding in interpreting part prints, dimensioning, as well as tolerance.
  • Edit G Code programs on various machines and able to program.
  • Prove out and edit programs written in G Code.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience 3rd axis, 4th axis, 5th axis, vertical milling machines.
  • Innovate and implement tooling solutions for challenging machining tasks.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to develop and refine inspection processes.

    • Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills ) :

  • High school or diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have ten-plus years of CNC experience.

    • Essential Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to move / transport up to 40 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, and squat to access all parts of the machine.

    • The pay range for this role is :

    22 - 30 USD per hour(Heritage Aviation- Tucson, AZ)
