Sign Language Interpreter in Fayetteville, NC

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity offers a rewarding role for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a middle school student in an educational setting. The position is based onsite in Lillington, NC, providing essential interpreting services to facilitate communication and learning within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 sign language interpreting services for a middle school student
• Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers
• Collaborate with school staff to support the student's educational experience
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Interpreter Certification or a minimum EIPA score of 3.5 (candidates with lower scores will be considered)
• Proven experience in sign language interpretation, preferably in educational settings
• Strong understanding of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture
• Ability to work onsite full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
