Nurse Assistant

This position requires a CNA license with the State of Michigan Hospice Residence 20 Hours per week Eligible for Part Time Benefits Shift : Nights Rotating Weekend shift is required. Henry Ford Hospice Home is the only residence for end-of-life care in Jackson County. Our compassionate care team treats patients with dignity, while providing comfort and support that extends to the patients' families. Located in a natural wooded setting that offers beautiful views and plentiful wildlife, our hospice residence combines homelike privacy, comfort, and compassion with the palliative care, pain management, and support those with life-limiting illnesses need.

Henry Ford Hospice Home - Jackson offers private patient rooms with sleeping space for loved ones, a water therapy spa room with walk-in tub, and features that encourage family gatherings, such as outdoor patios and walking paths, a gazebo and garden, children's playground, and two lounge areas with kitchens.

General Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. The Nurse Assistant follows the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.

Education / Experience Required

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. License / Certifications : CNA License. Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary, e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) OR Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role.) OR May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course. OR Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license. OR Medical Assistant program with OR without experience. OR At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role. Requirements : Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
