Summary

We are seeking a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselor to join our team in Virginia. This role is vital in supporting individuals with mental health challenges through therapeutic interventions and counseling services. As a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselor, you will contribute significantly to our mission of empowering families and enhancing community well-being.

Responsibilities

• Successful candidate must be able to plan and provide rehabilitative services for individuals with serious mental illness
• Duties include developing treatment plans, providing individual and group instructions, and completing required supportive documentation
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on rehabilitation goals
• Conduct assessments to determine client needs and develop tailored treatment plans
• Facilitate crisis intervention strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
• Advocate for clients within the community and assist them in accessing resources

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field with one-year experience working with the seriously mentally ill population required or qualified as QMHP / QMHP-T according to Virginia Board of Counseling guidelines
• QMHP-T supervision/experience provided
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required
• Salary is commensurate with education and experience as it relates to the position
• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and crisis intervention
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations
• Familiarity with case management practices is a plus
• Commitment to upholding ethical standards in mental health care
