The Sustainability Program Director is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive sustainability program that aligns with the overarching goals and mission of the organization and engages staff at all levels. This role helps position Rady Children's Orange County as a national leader in environmental sustainability with the goal of upholding national environmental sustainability standards and best practices. The Program Director is responsible for the development, implementation, promotion and monitoring of the environmental sustainability strategies and goals across the Rady Children Health Orange County. The Program Director leads the organizing in deploying environmental sustainability actions that lead to the reduction of ecological damage and promote long-standing sustainability practices through building efficiencies and managing waste. The environmental sustainability director acts in accordance with the policies and procedures and exemplifies the mission vision and values of Rady Children Health Orange County.
Pay Range : Minimum $95,098 Midpoint $126,006 Maximum $156,894. Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience : Required : Five (5) years of experience in health care sustainability. Preferred : Ten plus (10+) years of experience in health care sustainability.
Education : Required : Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field. Preferred : Master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field.
Specialized Skills : Required : Extensive knowledge of local regional and national emerging sustainable business strategies, life cycle assessment (LCA), ROI analysis and other key sustainability tools and techniques. Ability to analyze data, evaluate outcomes and recommend actions. Understand environmental health and safety guidelines, the US Green Building Councils Leadership in environmental design, the green guidelines for health care and basic environmental compliance healthcare. Knowledge of waste and inefficiencies common to the health care setting, primarily in the supply chain. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Has excellent presentation, verbal, and written skills. Is comfortable with public speaking, training, and education.
Licensure : Required : None. Preferred : U.S. Green Building Council LEED Green Associate certification.
