The role involves providing services in a hospital setting, covering 24-hour shifts with support from experienced staff in labor & delivery and gynecology. Opportunities include managing both routine and high-risk pregnancies, as well as performing various surgical procedures related to women's health.
Location : Eastern Iowa, the unique city center for arts and culture in the Quad Cities. Its restaurants, breweries, live music, baseball, ice skating, galleries and independent films are popular with young professionals, families and explorers looking for a unique urban experience along the Mississippi River. Opportunity available in other parts of Iowa as well.
Facility : A comprehensive medical facility providing a wide range of services including emergency care, surgical services, diagnostic imaging, and specialized treatments. The hospital is known for its commitment to patient care and community health.
Opportunity :
- Looking for an OB / GYN to fill a need!
- Practice Setting : OB & GYN in Hospital, 24 hours of coverage
- Dates of Coverage : October 6&7 and more dates in November and beyond.
- Schedule : 24 hour call. (depending on census, this can be 12 hours on site and 12 hours from hotel)
- There is a nice sleep room available on-site!
- Reason for Coverage : lost a physician, new one starts summer of 2025, and anticipate a maternity leave
- Trauma Level / Designation : level 3
- Call Schedule : available 1-2 months in advance
- Call Ratio : 1 : 5
- Describe Support Staff : Labor & Delivery, post partum, OR, ER
- Documentation System / EMR : CERNER
- Required Obstetrics Procedures :
Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.)
Required Labor and Delivery Procedures :
Surgical Gynecology Open
