GENERAL PURPOSE
This position provides a vital presence at store entrances and exits to prevent theft and fraud while ensuring a safe environment for both associates and customers. The Specialist engages with customers by making eye contact, smiling, and greeting them in a friendly manner, thus deterring theft by showcasing a strong presence in a company-issued vest and professional attire. You will walk the sales floor to identify potential theft indicators as directed by store leadership and collaborate with them to comply with loss prevention policies, minimizing operational shortages. A commitment to protecting the company's assets is essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment
- Demonstrate that safety is the top priority by practicing safe behaviors and assisting store leadership in maintaining a secure environment for everyone.
- Provide a strong presence including warm greetings and eye contact at entrances / exits and on the sales floor, while monitoring for safety issues.
- Ensure emergency exits are clear and accessible by removing clutter.
Building Great Teams & Partnerships
Deliver outstanding customer service by warmly greeting customers, making eye contact, and addressing questions courteously.Treat all customers and associates with respect and professionalism at all times.Engage regularly with internal and external partners, which may include conference calls and training sessions for associates.Other responsibilities may include supporting loss prevention initiatives.Brand Representation
Consistently represent and support the company brand.Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the dress code.Preventing Theft & Fraud
Monitor entrances / exits and the sales floor for suspicious activities that may indicate theft.Collect and communicate theft indicators to store and loss prevention leadership, utilizing internal and external intelligence.Follow company policies for responding to external theft occurrences.Implement company best practices to enhance productivity while minimizing unnecessary processes.Reducing Operational Shortage
Enhance store awareness regarding effective processes to reduce operational shortages.Train and educate associates on shortage reduction techniques.Observe and verify proper checkout procedures for both customers and associates.COMPETENCIES

High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred.One year of retail supervisory experience or similar training preferred.One year of loss prevention or security training preferred.An active Security Guard License is preferred.Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills.Proven ability to build relationships within the team.Exceptional customer service skills.Proven conflict resolution capabilities.Must comply with applicable laws and regulations for security positions, including background screening and drug testing.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Punctuality and regular attendance are a must.Must be able to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.Ability to lift or lower objects over 25 lbs.Must frequently bend, stoop, or crouch as needed.Other qualifications or skills may be required depending on specific assignments.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
