Job Description:Daily/regular responsibilities include: Design and Develop ETL Workflows
Build and maintain ETL workflows and mappings using Informatica PowerCenter to load data into NY APD reporting structures. Follow Development Standards
Ensure adherence to Informatica best practices, including avoiding hardcoding, leveraging reusable components, and using maplets. Automate Manual Activities
Identify manual operational tasks and design automation solutions to improve efficiency. Optimize and Troubleshoot ETL Processes
Perform debugging, performance tuning, and issue resolution across all ETL components. Perform Testing Activities
Develop and execute unit testing and integration testing to validate data and workflow functionality. Collaborate With Data Modelers and DBAs
Work jointly to optimize architecture, improve job performance, and increase throughput. Code Reviews and Development Support
Conduct code walkthroughs, provide development guidance, and ensure compliance with coding standards and security requirements. Apply Secure Coding Principles
Implement secure coding practices aligned with State of New York information security policies. Document ETL Processes
Create and maintain detailed operational documentation for workflows, mappings, and procedures. Production Support
Investigate and resolve pre-production and production ETL job issues. Leverage Informatica Data Quality (IDQ)
Use IDQ for data profiling, validation, and developing data quality and validation processes. 12. Required Skills & Attributes (With Years of Experience) - 5+ years - Informatica PowerCenter (development, optimization, best practices)
- 5+ years - Oracle & PL/SQL with strong coding, debugging, and performance tuning
- 2+ years - Scripting (Python, Shell, etc.)
- 2+ years - Data analysis experience
- Experience with data modeling techniques in data warehouse environments
- 2+ years - Healthcare data (Medicaid, Medicare, Exchange, commercial payer)
- Strong understanding of data warehouse & database design
- Experience with performance optimization and tuning
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Experience with Informatica Data Quality and Test Data Manager
13. Preferred Skills (What Sets a Candidate Apart) - Knowledge of HIPAA regulatory and security requirements
- Experience working with 834, 837, and NCPDP healthcare transaction sets
- Exposure to modern cloud and data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS
Advanced, deep-dive expertise in
Oracle performance and architecture
