Compensation : $120k - $140k + 10% bonus + 3 weeks PTO + 401k matching (up to 3.5%)
Job Overview
The Assistant Controller will support the Director of Finance in overseeing the company's financial operations to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in driving effective financial strategies, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing overall financial performances
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting team responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, and payroll.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Coordinate training for new hires and identify training needs for existing staff.
Key Responsibilities & Duties :
Assist with preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with official guidelines and regulatory requirements.Verify accounts for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and financial explanations.Manage daily financial operations, including the general ledger, payroll, AP / AR, and tax compliance.Lead tax planning efforts throughout the fiscal year and manage annual corporate tax filings.Ensure compliance with all government reporting requirements and tax filings.Enhance and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial data and improve reporting accuracy.Support the Director of Finance in preparing financial reports and presentations for stakeholders, including board members and executive leadership.Recommend improvements to finance-related systems and processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Collaborate closely with the FP&A team to analyze financial performance and provide insights to support managerial decision-making.Required Skills & Abilities :
Strong finance and management background.Solid understanding of GAAP and regulatory standards.Proficiency with ERP accounting systems and Microsoft Office.Excellent analytical, problem, solving, and organizational skills.Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration abilities.Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and preferably Microsoft GP (Great Plains).Well-developed people management skills.Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, within an industrial environment (Manufacturing), with responsibilities equivalent to this role.Prior Management experiencePay Details : $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
