Cardiology (Inpatient) Advanced Practice Provider

Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Memorial Healthcare System is seeking motivated and dynamic Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join its team. The selected candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists to evaluate and manage of a variety of cardiac and cardiovascular conditions. Responsibilities will include conducting inpatient consults, follow ups, diagnostic testing, and preoperative cardiac risk stratification. Providers with a passion for teaching and education are encouraged to apply as involvement in teaching will be required. The selected provider will have the opportunity to work alongside medical residents and fellows from Memorialâ€s accredited Graduate Medical Education Program. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of clinical experience in an acute, critical care environment. Candidates must have a national Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification or must have a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or Masterâ€s equivalent) from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess a Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.

Schedule requirements are four (4) shifts per week, with evening, weekend, and holiday coverage, as needed. This is a full-time employed position that offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.

In addition to a large general cardiology practice, the MCVI includes all relevant subspecialties including electrophysiology, preventative and interventional cardiology, vascular, congenital heart disease, imaging, and genetics. The cardiothoracic surgical program has also earned and maintained the distinguished three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Joe DiMaggio Childrenâ€s Hospital, a 232-bed freestanding facility and part of the Memorial Healthcare System, has an established and highly recognized pediatric heart transplant program. The MCVI performed the first adult heart transplant in Broward County and has an active VAD and Adult Heart Transplant program since 2014. Memorial has the first accredited adult congenital heart program in the State of Florida and is the only ELSO Gold designated ECMO program in South Florida.
