Construction Quality Assurance Representative

LRS Federal, a veteran-owned provider of construction management and facility engineering services for federal clients, is hiring a Construction Quality Assurance (QA) Representative to support a high-visibility Department of Homeland Security project in Laredo, Texas. Join our team and help ensure critical infrastructure meets the highest standards for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Overview:
As a Construction QA Representative, youll be the on-the-ground expertoverseeing inspection and quality assurance throughout the entire project lifecycle. Youll work closely with contractors and federal project teams to monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and maintain rigorous compliance on a fast-moving project of national importance. Due to the location of the project, local candidates are encouraged to apply as housing allowance cannot be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily construction activities to verify compliance with project specifications, federal building codes, and safety regulations
• Perform on-site inspections, review contractor submittals, and document all stages of construction progress
• Identify and report any defects in workmanship or materials, and recommend appropriate corrective actions
• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical and quality-related challenges
• Maintain thorough, accurate records of inspections, testing, and all quality-related incidents
• Prepare and present detailed QA reports for federal stakeholders
• Take part in pre-construction, progress, and punch-list meetings, contributing expertise at each project milestone
• Ensure all project documentation adheres to federal facility standards and protocols

Qualifications:

• US Citizenship required
• Minimum 8 years of experience in construction or construction quality assurance, with strong preference for experience on federal or large-scale institutional projects
• Deep knowledge of construction methods, materials, and current safety standards
• Skilled at interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and federal regulations
• Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across diverse project teams
• Ability to pass a federal background check
• Proficient with standard office software and construction management tools

Work Environment:
This is an on-site role at a federal construction site in Laredo, Texas. Youll be actively engaged in the field, requiring PPE and the ability to work safely around ongoing construction. Final candidates must successfully pass a federal background screening.
