Carpenter Helper

Scope and Purpose: A carpenter’s helper is defined as an entry level craftsman, able to perform basic carpentry skills.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Basic knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, and materials.
2. Minimal ability to read blueprints.
3. Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to take and compute measurements.
4. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
5. Ability to read a tale measure accurately
6. Ability to organize assigned tasks, for completion alone or with help.
7. experience working with electrical, battery, and air powered tools.
8. Able to tell when to ask for help.
9. Must follow all safety procedures.

Physical Requirements: Job requires the ability to perform tasks in all areas and aspects of the construction project. The employee is regularly required to walk, climb or balance, stop, kneel or crouch. Prolonged standing, climbing, bending and kneeling often are necessary. The employee will be required to climb ladders and work on scaffolds for heights of up to 60 feet. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25-50 pounds, up to 100 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Experience/Education:

• High School Education or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2- year experience in carpentry work.
• Good verbal communication skills required.

Must have transportation and your own basic hand tools.

Mon-Fri daytime schedule with stable 52- year company.
