The Illinois Department of Early Childhood (IDEC) is seeking an experienced professional to serve as its Director of Analytics. This position leads IDECs analytics and reporting functions providing timely accurate and actionable insights on children families programs and agency performance. The Director designs and manages advanced analytical models dashboards and reporting structures to monitor impact identify trends and guide policy and operational decisions. The role also oversees data quality integration and governance processes to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting secure ethical and transparent data use. As a key advisor and collaborator the Director works closely with leadership providers and external partners to strengthen data-driven decision-making and equitable outcomes across Illinois. About the Agency

The Illinois Department of Early Childhood (IDEC) was signed into law in June of 2024 with the focus of making early childhood education and care services simpler better and fairer for families with young children across the state. During fiscal years FY25 and FY26 IDEC will be working through transitioning data programs and services from three state agencies the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to IDEC in order to be fully operational by July 2026.

Term Appointment :

Candidates hired into a term position shall be appointed for a term of 4 years and are subject to a probationary period. The term may be renewed for successive four-year terms at the Director of the Department of Early Childhoods discretion.
