- Summary
Experienced Project Engineer needed for design, planning and permitting activities, including storm water management facilities, erosion and sediment control, subdivisions, land development plans, water and wastewater systems, roads and highways, bridges, utilities, etc.
- Responsibilities
- Perform design calculations for infrastructure, land development and other civil-related projects
- Prepare profiles and cross-sections using surveys to represent elevations, topographical contours, and proposed structures
- Prepare sketches, drawings, details, written specifications, and other presentation formats to ensure accuracy and conformity with the specified design
- Prepare and submit permit applications to various government agencies
- Determine the sequence of work and method of presentation for all proposed projects
- Calculate excavation quantities and prepare cut-fill analysis diagrams for use in earth-moving operations
- Supervise junior engineering associates and technical support staff to produce quality designs and plans
- Interpret plans from other engineering related disciplines (architectural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc.)
- Explain drawings to project team members and provide adjustments and revisions as necessary
- Prepare quantity take-offs and construction cost estimates
- Review subdivision and land development plans and generate review comments
- Attend after-hours municipal meetings as consultant to municipal client or private landowner / developer
- Other duties as assigned
- Requirements
- Bachelor’s and / or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Five (5) to ten (10) plus years experience in civil or environmental engineering discipline preferred
- Must possess a current Pennsylvania Professional Engineer’s (PE) License
- Advanced knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics, erosion and sediment control, water and wastewater systems, grading, roads and highways, construction management, and associated topics
- Basic skill level using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and GIS software
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is a plus
- Ability to lead others, work independently, or as a part of a multidisciplinary team
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office business software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
