This position may be for you.

As an assessor in this role, you will conduct face-to-face interviews with community members applying for Home and Community Based Waiver Services (HCBS), Community First Choice (CFC), and Personal Care Services (PCS). In this role, you will document thorough and clear assessment findings to make justifiable, evidence-based conclusions in a consumer assessment tool. The assessments conducted in this role determine whether services are necessary, the proper type and level for individuals to receive adequate care, and whether they meet regulatory requirements.

The Working Environment You Can Expect :

This position is located in Anchorage, Alaska. Our office is in Northeast Anchorage (1835 Bragaw St, Ste 350). It is near Costco, East High School, various restaurants, and a coffee shop. Parking is readily available at the building.

Our team consists of 18 assessors, 3 supervisors, and 2 support staff who work closely and cooperatively under the direction of the Assessment Unit Manager. The position also involves regular travel throughout the state. There is an option for a hybrid teleworking schedule once a probationary period has been successfully passed.

Special Notice :

  • Transportation to and from assessments is accomplished with state vehicles when available and your vehicle, as needed.
  • Position requires regular overnight travel within Alaska .
  • Travel trips typically last around 2 business days, although flexibility is required due to the nature of this position.
  • Travel methods include commercial and small charter planes, boats, snow machines, and four-wheelers.
  • Must be comfortable with travel to both urban and rural regions of Alaska.
  • A valid and current Alaskan driver's license is required at the time of appointment
