Project Manager

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Project Manager. The Environmental Project Manager is responsible for managing and executing diverse environmental projects with a focus on restoration, compliance, and remediation for federal, state, and private clients. The position ensures that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and quality standards. This role supports the full lifecycle of environmental projects, from planning to close-out, acting as a technical expert and project leader, while mentoring staff and building client relationships. This role requires a strong technical background, project management skills, and the ability to oversee multidisciplinary teams executing complex environmental projects. This position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii.

• Plan, manage, and execute environmental projects involving site assessments, investigations, remediation, long-term monitoring / management, and compliance activities under IRP, MMRP, CERCLA, RCRA, and NEPA.
• Conduct and oversee field activities including sampling, drilling oversight, remediation system installation, and subcontractor management.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, environmental planning documents (EAs, EISs, SAPs, QAPPs, EHMPs, LUCIPs), work plans, and health and safety plans.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and DoD representatives to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Conduct project and contract management of environmental projects, including managing resources (personnel, equipment, subcontractors, and budgets), complying with scopes of work, developing and managing project schedules and performance, performing financial management such as preparing invoices, monthly / periodic status reports, and preparing cost estimates for environmental projects.
• Support and mentor junior staff by providing technical guidance and promoting knowledge-sharing across project teams.
• Support business development initiatives for the environmental business line. Contribute to business development by assisting with proposals, cost estimates, and client engagement.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, responsiveness, and delivery of high-quality work.
• Travel up to 20-25% is required; occasional weekend or holiday work may be necessary to meet project needs.

Ability to professionally and effectively interact with managers, coworkers, field operations staff, technical staff, subcontractors, and clients.

Military Installation Access and Security Clearance : This position requires access to military installations. Must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass and currently hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 to $95,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
