Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Data Engineering Associate to join our Enterprise Data Technology Team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about technology and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic and collaborative environment. As a Data Engineering Associate you will work closely with senior engineers and other team members to design develop and maintain software solutions.

This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City MO office.

How You Will Make an Impact

Full-Stack Development : Assist in the development of both front-end and back-end components of our applications ensuring seamless integration and functionality.

Data Engineering : Design build and maintain systems and infrastructure that enables the efficient collection transformation storage and delivery of data for analytics machine learning and business decision-making.

Programming : Write clean efficient and maintainable code primarily in Java with opportunities to work with other languages such as Python.

Database Management : Work with relational databases (e.g. DB2 Oracle) to design implement and optimize data storage solutions.

Agile Methodologies : Participate in SAFe Agile development processes contributing to sprint planning daily stand-ups and retrospectives.

Version Control : Use Git and GitHub for source control ensuring code integrity and collaboration.

Testing and Debugging : Conduct unit testing debugging and troubleshooting to ensure the quality and reliability of the codebase.

Collaboration : Work closely with other developers participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Learning and Development : Know the latest industry trends and best practices and continuously seek opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Support : Support and directly interact with Portfolio Managers Traders Compliance officers and others.

What You Bring to the Team (Required)

Education : Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.

Experience : 0-2 years of hands-on corporate experience developing software.

Programming Skills : Proficiency in Java or similar languages (e.g. Python C#).

Database Knowledge : Understanding of SQL and experience with relational databases.

Agile Knowledge : Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Version Control : Experience with Git or other version control systems.

Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues.

Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Team Player : Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Assets (Preferred)

Finance Knowledge : Interest or experience in the finance or asset management industry is a plus.

CI / CD Tools : Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools and practices.

Unit Testing : Experience in writing and implementing unit tests (e.g. JUnit).
