Quality Engineer St. Johns MI

Salary Range : $72000 - $106000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in St. Johns that are seeking skilled Quality Engineers. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop implement and maintain quality control plans and procedures.
  • Perform root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Utilize statistical methods to monitor process capability and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems and standards.
  • Lead the resolution of customer quality issues and complaints.
  • Facilitate the application of quality tools such as FMEA PPAP and APQP.
  • Drive initiatives for defect reduction and process optimization.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency with core quality tools and methodologies (e.g. FMEA SPC MSA PPAP 8D problem solving).
  • Solid understanding and application of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management systems (e.g. IATF 16949 AS9100).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

    • Bonus Qualifications

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) or other advanced ASQ certifications.
  • Proficiency with advanced statistical software such as Minitab or JMP.
  • Experience with a major ERP system (e.g. SAP Oracle) for quality module management.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD) for design review and tooling.
