As a Traveling Pharmacist , you will help oversee the distribution of medications to patients, communicate with physicians regarding medication types and dosages, manage pharmaceutical inventory, and interact with customers to dispense prescriptions and answer medication-related questions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Dispense medications according to prescriptions from doctors.Maintain current knowledge of all medications and pharmacy legal issues.Communicate with pharmacy staff and the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) about drug usage, interactions, and refunds.Take inventory of pharmaceutical drugs and reorder based on local demand.Interact with pharmacy customers to dispense prescriptions and answer medication questions.Must be flexible to support multiple specialties and travel to other locations, including same-day air travel based on business needs (the company is prepared to assist with accommodations, etc.)Requirements :
Education : RPh or PharmD required; Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
Experience :
Preferred : Experience in retail and / or IV Specialty & Infusion pharmacy settings.Medication therapy management (MTM), vaccinations, and handling third-party rejections.Proven experience as a home infusion (503A compounding) pharmacist.Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands, etc.At least 2 years in a specialty pharmacy setting preferred.At least 2 years’ experience with CPR+ and CareTend software preferred.Experience with PioneerRx / Caretend and / or MatchRx software preferred.Skills & Knowledge :
Thorough understanding of dosage administration, measurement, chemical compounds, and medical brands.Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office and pharmacy information systems (e.g., MediTech, Mediware).Good organizational skills.Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.Integrity and compassion.Exceptional communication skills required.Certifications :
IV certification required.Vaccination certification required.Basic knowledge of sterile compounding is required.
