Position Summary : The Chief CRNA will lead anesthesia services across three ophthalmology centers in Florida. This role blends clinical expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring safe and efficient anesthesia care for ophthalmic procedures. The Chief CRNA will oversee departmental operations, staff management, and quality assurance while maintaining limited clinical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Administration :
- Direct patient care of 32 hours per week, Monday- Thursday and must include one clinical shift per location per month.
- Direct and manage anesthesia services across Sebring, Gainesville, and Tampa locations.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for ophthalmic anesthesia.
- Oversee staffing and performance evaluations of CRNA personnel.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
- Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
Clinical Oversight :
Supervise and support CRNA staff in delivering anesthesia for ophthalmic procedures including :Cataract surgeryImplantable Collamer Lens (ICL) proceduresGlaucoma surgeries Corneal procedures o Lid surgeriesPerform and oversee eye blocks, including bulbar blocks (training available if needed).Ensure accurate and timely paper-based charting and documentation.Quality & Collaboration :
Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.Collaborate with ophthalmologists, surgical teams, and administrative leadership.Organize continuing education and training for anesthesia staff.Qualifications :
Education & Certification :
Master’s degree or Higher from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.Active Florida RN and CRNA licenses.NBCRNA certification.ACLS certification required. Experience :Minimum 2 years of CRNA experience.At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.Experience in ophthalmic anesthesia is a plus. Skills :Strong leadership and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to manage multi-site operations and remote teams.Comfortable with paper charting and adaptable to various documentation systems.Compensation & Benefits :
