Campland on the Bay is a destination RV and tent camping resort. Located in the Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego, Campland occupies approximately 40 prime acres on Mission Bay. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) hourly position. Total compensation includes paid vacation, paid sick time, 2 floating holidays per year, nine paid company holidays, company medical / dental / vision / life insurance and a 401k with company match.
We seek a skilled Maintenance Technician / Carpenter to join our team. If you are a problem-solver with strong carpentry skills who enjoys working with your hands, have a can-do attitude and are a team player, we want to hear from you.
The maintenance technician is responsible for general carpentry, construction, and renovation tasks across the property. You will ensure that our facilities are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing by performing repairs on walls, floors, windows, and doors, as well as managing tool inventory.
Key Responsibilities :
- Carpentry & Construction : Plan, build, and install walls, floors, windows, and doors. Measure, cut, and shape materials using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Renovation & Repair : Perform maintenance on roofs, mitigate wood rot, and execute general facility repairs to specification and code.
- Painting & Drywall : Perform surface preparation, drywall installation, mudding, taping, sanding, texturing, and painting.
- Blueprints & Schematics : Read and interpret technical instructions and blueprints for assembly and construction projects.
- Inventory Control : Conduct physical inventory of stock, tools, and equipment. Ensure all tools are accounted for and serial numbers are recorded quarterly.
- Equipment Maintenance : Maintain facility carts (including battery checks and cleaning) and ensure they are safe to operate.
- Communication : Respond timely to radio calls from Rangers or the team to assist with guest and employee needs.
- Other tasking as assigned.
Qualifications :
Experience : Extensive knowledge of the carpentry trade.Attitude : Willing to follow directions and be respectful, professional and cooperative with supervisor and coworkers.Technical Skills : Proficiency with hand and power tools, fasteners, and adhesives.Knowledge : Understanding of building codes, safety standards, and proper material application.Tech Savvy : Ability to use TVM's timekeeping and time-off request software to ensure accurate timesheets and pay.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions for long periods.Ability to crawl, squat, bend, and maneuver in tight or unusual spaces.Must be physically present on the property to perform job responsibilities.Terra Vista Management is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
