The Cloud Platform Engineering is the team that designs, develops and manages AWS based infrastructure and services including developer experience. As a key member of our Cloud Platform Engineering, you will implement and maintain cloud native platform capabilities including infrastructure automation, continuous delivery, observability, and security that support the delivery and operation of our AWS cloud-based Software as a Service solutions.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, Deploy and maintain cloud-based infrastructure based on AWS.
• Design and implement infrastructure automation including CI / CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Site Reliability
• Participates in design of cloud application architecture to ensure scalability, availability, observability and security.
• Assists in the evaluation and operationalization of new tools, technologies and cloud services.
• Contributes to and promotes best practices and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement in the Cloud Platform
• Participates in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours production support.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in related field required or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree in related field preferred
• Enterprise public cloud experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure including compute, storage, database, networking, and security related services preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Linux administration and networking fundamentals
• Hands on experience with one or more of the followingOne or more scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby, PowerShell, or Groovy)Cloud automation templating (CloudFormation or Terraform)Configuration management and deployment automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or Chef.Continuous Integration and DevOps toolchain technologies such as Jenkins, Git and NexusLog aggregation and monitoring tools such as ELK, CloudWatch, Sensu, Prometheus.
• Demonstrates key competencies to include
• Must be a self-starter and motivated to work with others to accomplish goals with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, both independently and collaboratively
• Ability to embrace change and adapt to new technologies quickly.

Your Team

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering.  You will have 4-6 peer teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

Field / Remote — Select roles designated as field / remote will require associates to work from a home office, connecting virtually with Choice team members and leadership on Zoom, with possible required travel depending on the role.
