Yes Job Type Part-Time Working Hours Position Summary The Clinical Assistant Professor position is a half-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track position in the Department of Education – Early Childhood Education (ECHD) program, with a start date of August 15, 2026. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester in the early childhood education program and collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to provide academic and holistic support to students.
Additionally, supervise teacher candidates in field and student teaching experiences, engage in service at the university and in the community, and perform additional duties as assigned by the program director and the department chair.
General Responsibilities: · Teach two courses per semester to support students.· Participate in curriculum development, program, and general assessment efforts.· Provide service to the Department, College, and University.
Specific Responsibilities:
Instruction, Curriculum, & Assessment (50%)· Teach two Early Childhood field or student teaching courses per semester per defined course standards and outcomes.· Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative teaching methods.· Create an inclusive learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation.· Visit, observe, and support both teacher candidates and cooperating teachers.· Participate in and contribute to program-related activities such as planning, developing, and evaluating the program and curricula, assessing student learning outcomes, and other curricular activities.Program Administration (30%)· Work collaboratively with community partners and schools to provide comprehensive and holistic support to students.· Participate in ECHD faculty meetings in a purposeful and meaningful manner.· Serve on university committees to contribute to and stay abreast of developing practices and policy decisions relevant to the ECHD and the College.· Participate in faculty governance in the College and University
Recruitment (10%)· Assist in recruiting new early childhood students.· Represent ECHD at student recruitment events, both at the university and at other institutions.Perform other duties as assigned

Years of Experience Required At least three years of successful PreK-12 teaching experience. Certification/Licensure Required Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will also hold an MA in Special Education and an LBS1 endorsement.A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Early Childhood Education from a regionally accredited institution will also be preferred.
- Evidence of collaborating with university staff, faculty, and students.
- Experience mentoring and coaching non-traditional adult learners.
- Expertise in the areas of early childhood education and special education
- Five years of experience in PreK-12 or higher education.
- Experience serving as a supervisor for field/ clinical experiences in a PreK-12 setting.
- Experience with Blackboard (Learning Management Software) or/and/or Watermark.
