PACKAGING STRUCTURAL DESIGN – CHICOPEE MA

Mount Kemble Search Group, the direct hire division of CoWorx Staffing Services, has an amazing opportunity for a Packaging Structural Designer in the Chicopee MA area.

This role will be responsible for the technical aspects of packaging design, ensuring that the packaging is durable, protective, and optimized for production and distribution. This is a 1st shift direct hire role with a salary range of $50 – $70K, BOE. Schedule will be 7 : 30am-5 : 30pm Monday through Thursday. 8am-12pm Friday. The position is onsite and requires CAD experience.

Responsibilities :

Work closely with graphic designers to combine functionality with visual appeal, creating packaging that communicates effectively to customers’ target audience.

Focus on creating packaging that communicates effectively to customers’ target audience.

Understand the technicalities of printing processes, ensuring their designs are print-ready and translate well from the digital realm to the physical packaging.

Design and develop structural plans, drawings, and specifications for various packaging projects.

Collaborate with sales and production to ensure structural designs meet project requirements.

Utilize software such as Artios CAD to create detailed structural models.

Perform calculations and analysis to determine load capacities and structural integrity.

Review and revise designs based on feedback from clients.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and equipment.

Desired Background / Skills :

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Proven experience as a Structural Designer or similar role.

Proficient in using design software such as Artios CAD.

Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.

Familiarity with mechanical design concepts.

Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients.

Note : Graphic design skills are not directly relevant to the role of a Structural Designer.
