American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Labor & Delivery position requiring 3-5 years of recent high-risk experience and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is located in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 beds and 4 operating roomsAverage daily census of 15 and 500-600 deliveries per monthNight shifts, 3x12 hours per week from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Must work every other weekend and cover holidays as neededExpected to float to Postpartum, Antepartum, and sister Mother / Baby facilities as requiredUtilizes Epic EMR systemStaffing follows AWHONN guidelinesDuties include circulating in the OR, providing newborn care immediately after delivery, and administering medications such as heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfateUnit serves a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OBs, substance recovery support, and community care clinicsFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this positionWork schedule is posted every 6 weeks and may adjust to meet unit needsMinimal to no RTO is accepted; pre-approved time off is considered on a case-by-case basisAll travelers may be required to float among facilities within Washington StateHoliday coverage is required as neededCandidates must be able to pass a clinical review for consideration\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license requiredMinimum of 3-5 years current Labor & Delivery nursing experience in a high-acuity and fast-paced environmentDemonstrated high-risk Labor & Delivery experience requiredAbility to circulate and function as a Baby Nurse during delivery, providing NB care including eyes, thighs, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessmentsCurrent BLS and NRP certifications requiredSupervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years in a comparable specialty / settingMust provide proof of required certifications and active Nursys verificationExperience with electronic fetal monitoring requiredPreferred certifications : ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, or AWHONN IntermediateFormer perm staff must be separated for at least 3 months and live outside a 50-mile radius\n Benefits\n
