Experience in Outpatient Oncology. Experience with administration of chemotherapy. Experience in handling body fluids after chemotherapy. Experience in continuous infusion of chemotherapy. Experience in IV push administration of chemotherapy. Experience in managing and disposing of cytotoxic spills. Experience in monitoring chemotherapy. Experience in oral administration of chemotherapy. Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values. Experience in accessing ports and caring for them. Experience in central line blood draws and care. Experience in infusion pump management. Experience in intravenous hydration and multivitamins. Experience in PICC line care. Experience in starting and managing IVs. Knowledge of antiemetics, antitumor medications, antibiotics, corticosteroids, and Neupogen. Knowledge of managing acute tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression. Knowledge of neutropenic precautions and phlebotomy skills. Skills in patient and family education and support. Knowledge of alterations in skin and mucous membranes, altered mental status, constipation, diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, nausea, vomiting, and neuropathy. Description : The position is for an Infusion Registered Nurse in an outpatient clinic. This role requires providing care to patients receiving chemotherapy. The nurse will need to administer chemotherapy and monitor patients during their treatment. Responsibilities include handling toxic materials and maintaining safety protocols. The nurse will assist in patient education regarding treatment and side effects. Workers are expected to float between units as needed based on patient care requirements. The role may also involve supporting patients with various types of cancer. Experience with charting systems such as Epic is preferred. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment. A strong commitment to patient care and safety is essential. All clinical staff must have received the flu vaccine or submit a flu declination form during flu season. This role does not require on-call duty. Weekend shifts may be required as needed. Each nurse works alongside a team of other RNs to ensure quality patient care.
