Hematopoietic Transplant Coordinator- Gainesville, FL

Location : 6500 Newberry Road, PO Box 147006, Gainesville, FL 32614

Position Type : Fulltime| Permanent

Available Shifts : Days (Monday- Friday)

Facility Description :

Client is a 523-bed, full-service medical and surgical acute care center. For over 49 years, we have served North Central Florida. We offer comprehensive cardiovascular care, oncology, orthopedics, and neurosciences. We offer minimally-invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, weight loss surgery and treatment. Other services that we provide include women's health and wound therapy. We are fully accredited by the Joint Commission and certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our hospital has an Accredited Chest Pain Center by ACC (American College of Cardiology) and is designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery. Job Summary and Qualifications

The Hematopoietic Transplant Coordinator will be expected to :

  • Act as a resource to the members of the multidisciplinary team on transplant care, protocols and procedures.
  • Coordinate and participate in telemedicine conferences with transplant physician, referring physician, patient, etc.
  • Have the ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and their support system.
  • Participate in professional activities and act as a leader in promoting best practices, department specific initiatives and process improvement.
  • Participate in formal training in the care and management of patients receiving transplant and cellular therapy.
  • Training to include transplant and other cellular therapy protocols, pathways, Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), and Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). Incorporate the ANA Standards of Care and Standards of Professional Practice.

    • Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of RECENT (WITHIN THE LAST YEAR) acute care leadership experience within specialty (Would be open to 1-2 years; Also would be flexible on speaking with candidates that have leadership experience within the Transplant, BMT, Blood Cancer, Hematology, Oncology)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support required
  • BSN Required. MSN Preferred.
  • Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida or current active multistate license.
  • Bone Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN), or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), or Bachelors Degree, or Masters Degree must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
  • Prior experience working within a Transplant and Cellular Therapy(TCT), Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) or Blood and Bone Marrow transplant program is highly preferred.

  • Phone call / zoom / onsite ? Onsite for local candidates. WebEx for candidates that aren't local
  • Who has final say on hiring? The Panel team discusses and comes to agreement together
